Day 7

Today we went in search of an internet cafe this morning.  That was an experience.  The ladies at the store around the corner don’t speak English so I asked them in Japanese where I could use the Internet.  After a discussion with about 5 people we finally figured out that the internet was this way —>  I’m not sure which way that is…The lady kindly wrote out instructions for me on how to get there, only there were in Kanji so I have no idea what they’re saying.

So in our search for the Internet we ended up back by Naminoe Shrine were we stopped to take some pictures and just relax and watch the fish.

We gave up on the finding the Net and headed back to the apartment for lunch and a quick rest before Shodo training this afternoon.  We dined on Ham Sandwiches and Juice…Lunch fit for kings…

Shodo training this afternoon was the hardest yet.  It was full of “Challenges” that I don’t think we did very well on.  It’s frustrating to see his work so perfect and look at ours which resembles finger painting by times.  We need lots of practice.  It’s been a humbling experience.  I think one of the hardest things to do is use my right hand to draw.  I finally figured out why I can’t use my left…it’s the difference between pulling the brush and pushing the brush.  He also showed us how to do some paintings as well…we drew fish…they looked a little cross-eyed and crazy but it was pretty cool.  I forgot to take some pics of them, and I’m just too tired after training tonight to run up the stairs to do it…so the pics will have to wait.

Class tonight was good.  We did a little bit of everything.  Jay ended up with a blister the size of the pad of his foot.  It doesn’t look comfy at all.  We’re going to stop and pick up some stuff for it later tonight.

Tomorrow it’s off to the Aquarium and Pineapple Parkso we better go and get some rest…it’s an early day tomorrow.
